Third edition of the ThermoFlexX Newsletter.
Over recent years great progress has been made in the print quality achieved with the flexo process. However, common challenges still remain. For printing of fine highlight tones, particularly in ‘fade to zero’ vignettes, flexo still struggles to reduce the minimum dot sufficiently. This often leads to visible ‘hard-edges’ preventing good graphical reproduction. Furthermore when printing solids; density, smoothness and line-work sharpness can often be inferior to other technologies. New ThermoFlexX Screening methods address both of these issues, enabling a print quality to directly rival both offset and gravure, but at the lower production costs of flexography.
